Distributed Leadership Forum

November 12 – 13, 2009, Cambridge, MA

In today's changing economic environment, the sheer complexity and ambiguity of problems is humbling. More and more decisions are made in the context of global markets and rapidly — sometimes radically — changing financial, social, political, technological, and environmental forces. Stakeholders such as activists, regulators, and employees all have claims on organizations. No one person can possibly stay on top of everything.

The inaugural Distributed Leadership Forum will bring together a carefully — chosen group of scholars and leaders to explore the key components of distributed leadership and how to build a network of leaders operating at all levels who bring innovative capacity, visionary spirit, and collaborative innovation that people in organizations want and the current environment demands.

Over the course of two days, participants will discuss the following topics:

  • Practitioners of Distributed Leadership
  • Distributed Leadership Across Boundaries
  • Mobilizing Distributed Leadership in Networks and Organizations
  • Designs for the Future

The program will take place at the Microsoft New England Research & Development Center.
