MIT Sloan has long been known as a hub of entrepreneurship and innovation. We offer a multitude of opportunities and activities related to entrepreneurship and innovation such as the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship, the MIT Initiative on the Digital Economy, and the MIT Regional Acceleration Program. Our courses, hackathons, competitions, and conferences lead to innovations in goods and services, ways of doing business, and models for markets. MIT Sloan Alumni have founded companies such as PillPack, HubSpot, and Invivo Therapeutics.

In the U.S., eighty percent of people are locked out of the solar market because they can’t put solar on their rooftop. Solstice, co-founded by Sandhya Murali, MBA ’15, and Stephanie Speirs, MBA ’17, is changing the system with an inclusive model of community solar.

A majority of people in the Democratic Republic of Congo lack access to electricity. At Nuru, Juliana Kerrest, MBA ‘18, Chief People and Sustainability Officer, is dedicated to enhancing connectivity. Nuru builds mini solar grids allowing those in remote areas to tap into a power source.
