Swati Gupta received the NSF Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) Research Initiation Initiative (CRII) Award in 2019. The CRII Award is a junior faculty award, and Gupta won it while she was an assistant professor at the Stewart School of Industrial & Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech.

Swati Gupta won a Simons-Berkeley Research Fellowship for Real-Time Decision Making, and was subsequently selected to be funded as a Microsoft Research Fellowship in the spring of 2018.

Gupta also won a Simons-Berkeley Research Fellowship for Bridging Continuous and Discrete Optimization in the fall of 2017.

The Simons-Berkeley Research Fellowships, given by the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing at the University of California, Berkeley, are awarded to young scientists within five years of earning their PhD.

John Hauser has been recognized with an honorary doctorate from the Erasmus School of Economics at Erasmus University. Hauser was recognized in the laudatio as “one of the main founders of marketing science as a discipline.”  Hauser was also cited as one of the “most rigorous scholars in the field.” The degree was conferred in Rotterdam on November 8, 2016.

Rodrigo Verdi has received the 2016 American Accounting Association (AAA) Distinguished Contribution to Accounting Literature Award, which recognizes “accounting research of exceptional merit that has significantly impacted the discipline over a period of at least five years.” Verdi was recognized for his 2008 paper (co-authored by Holger Daske, University of Mannheim, Luzi Hail, Wharton, and Christian Leuz, Chicago Booth) entitled,“Mandatory IFRS Reporting Around the World: Early Evidence on the Economic Consequences..”

John Hauser won the Buck Weaver Award from the INFORMS Society for Marketing Science in 2013. The Buck Weaver Award is an annual award that "honors distinguished scholars and practitioners who have excelled in the achievement of rigor and relevance in marketing science."

Swati Gupta won the Google India Women in Engineering Award in 2011. The Google India Women in Engineering Award began in 2008 as a way to recognize deserving women students in the field of Computer Science and Engineering.

John Hauser won the Churchill Award from the American Marketing Association, Market Research Special Interest Group, in 2011 for “Lifetime achievement in the academic study of marketing research.”

John Hauser's, Glen Urban's, and Michael Braun's article "Website Morphing" (co-authored with Guilherme Liberali of Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos, Brazil) has been selected as one of the 50 best articles published in 2009 in management and has therefore won an Emerald Management Reviews Citation of Excellence. Their article was published in Marketing Science (Vol. 28, No. 2, March-April 2009).

The papers being reprinted in the Classics Issue is: John Hauser and Steven Shugan, "Defensive Marketing Strategies," originally published in 1983. This Classics Issue celebrates foundation research that is highly cited. Editorials from Editors-in-Chief along with author commentaries are included with the articles in this special issue.

John Hauser has been listed as a Highly Cited Researcher from the ISI Web of Science since 2006. According to the ISI, Highly Cited Researchers encompass a diverse range of research fields in the sciences and social sciences.
